IFPC are pleased to advise that resurfacing work at Seymour field car park is due to take place over the coming weeks, in
time for the start of the new football season.
The works will increase the provision of car parking spaces and future proof the surfacing for many years making the car park safer for users with restricted mobility.
The project is majority funded by the s106 monies that IFPC received earlier this year. S106 money is payable by housing developers to the Borough and in this instance is related to the Bell Mead development. IFPC were made aware of these funds only this year and successfully obtained them on the proviso that they were spent on improving Seymour Field facilities.
It is hoped that by increasing the car parking spaces on the field, the issue of cars parking along New Road verges will be reduced.
IFPC are also in the process of placing an order for 6 new planters to be sited at the entrance of New Road to restrict the illegal parking that has taken place over the years.
