Earlier this year, IFPC acquired a plot of land in Steen Close. Clearance work has already been completed, and the site will be fenced soon.
The land is set to become a community orchard, featuring heritage fruit trees that will be planted this autumn. This orchard will serve as an educational space for local schools and a source of fresh fruit for our parish residents – something the whole community can enjoy!
We’re looking for volunteers to help maintain the orchard by watering plants, pruning, and generally taking care of the trees. If you’d like to get involved, please get in touch with the parish clerk.
The apple trees will be sourced from the East of England Apples and Orchards Project, who offer helpful pruning classes for volunteers – a great way to learn more if you’re keen to help.
