Received from Essex and Suffolk Water
I am writing to provide you with details of essential work to renew water supply mains in Fryerning, which may be of interest to you as it will affect residents on Blackmore Road.
The mains renewal scheme will commence on Thursday 28 June 2018 and last for approximately five weeks. The location of the works is on Blackmore Road, from its junction with Bag Lane, running eastwards for approximately 500m to outside Church Hill Cottages.
This is an essential scheme as the existing water main is in a very poor condition and is becoming increasing prone to bursts. This leads to unplanned interruptions to the water supply for our customers, more leakage, and travel inconvenience for the public due to more regular roadworks.
Due to the narrowness of the road, a road closure will be necessary to allow the work to be carried out safely for both the workforce and general public. We have worked in conjunction with the Highways Department at Essex County Council Highways to agree the road closure and diversion route. This diversion route will use Fryerning Lane, Ingatestone High Street, Trueloves Lane, Green Street and Bag Lane.
During the work there may be times when we have to interrupt the water supplies to properties on Blackmore Road for a period of up to three hours, but we will provide at least 48 hours’ notice to residents via a card which will be hand delivered by a site supervisor. There may also be other water supply interruptions of less than 30 minutes, and we will also provide advance notice of these before they take place.
A letter with all the information is being delivered to the residents of Blackmore Road. We hope this information will be of use to you if you receive any queries from residents.
If you have any questions regarding the scheme please do not hesitate to contact me on 01268 664862. Alternatively, if you would like to meet with the Project Manager, Daren Still, to discuss the plans further, we would be very happy to arrange a convenient time and date.
