The parish council have allocated budget for the second part of Bell Mead community garden project; Circles Alternative Education will be starting on phase 1a shortly.
The phase will begin with the clearance of unwanted plants and preparation of soil for seeding and planting. The trees and shrubs will also be maintained with some of the materials being used to create a larger dead hedge along the stream fencing – this will help to reuse natural materials, reinforce safety features and create habitats for wildlife in the area.
Once the ground and trees/shrubs have been cut back and maintained, the area behind the benches will be levelled out; weed control membrane and mulch will be added behind the benches and up along the pathway with the tree stumps.
This phase will run from now (April 2024) and will last until late spring (May 2024).
